GHANA LOGISTICS WAREHOUSING & SUPPLY CHAIN AWARDS
We are delighted to introduce to you our novel awards scheme: The Ghana Logistics Warehousing & Supply Chain Awards.
This unique awards scheme aims to, for the very first time in Ghana, identify and publicly recognize the most outstanding business logistics, warehouses and product/service supply chains in Ghana and the private enterprises and public institutions that provide and participate in them. To this end the awards will identify and recognize the most exemplary processes and routes to end user markets for products and services in Ghana, including the facilities and economic infrastructure that make them possible.
Awards will be conferred across over 40 different categories, through a comprehensive and credible selection process using a combination of quantitative and qualitative considerations, executed by our dedicated research consultants and our special awardees selection jury. The process involves nominations, due diligence and verification of the information contained therein, assessment, shortlisting and ultimately, deliberations by a special awardees selection jury comprising seven highly reputed supply chain experts – each specializing in various aspects such as clearing and forwarding, transportation, warehousing, distributorship etc – with vast experience and skills in the industry as a whole.
The selected award winners will be conferred with their awards at a strictly by invitation, red carpet dinner-dance gala ceremony to be held later this year at a five star venue in Accra. The event will be the largest gathering of supply chain participants and facilitators, as well as representation of the beneficiaries of such supply chains, in modern day Ghana.
Nominations are scheduled to open on…………. And the awards scheme will climax with the awards conferment ceremony itself tentatively scheduled for…. 2020.
Corporate/institutional sponsorship opportunities exist for astute private enterprises and public sector institutions that prudently wish to associate with excellence in supply chain processes and facilities and use this unique platform to reach a large audience of potential customers and wider stakeholders in their activities.
Awards Rationale
The Ghana Logistics, Warehousing and Supply Chain Awards are being organized in recognition of the crucial importance that supply chains play in making goods and services available to their target customer markets and in the pricing of those goods and services at the point of sale to the end user, since that is primarily determined by the price at which the retailer receives the goods and the availability of optional points of sale of those goods for the end user.
Research has revealed that identified inefficiencies in various supply chains are a major cause of inflated product prices in Ghana. For instance foodstuff in a typical market in Accra often causes twice as much as they cost in the northern part of the country where that are cultivated simply because of the number of middlemen they pass through, each of whom does not add any value to the produce but adds on a significant price mark up.
The Organizers
The Ghana Logistics, Warehousing and Supply Chain Awards are being organized by The Business Executive magazine, a periodical business, finance and socio-economic development focused journal, published from Accra Ghana and circulated all around West Africa through a unique collaboration with the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FEWACCI) as well as circulation in the United Kingdom, North America and South Africa.
